Formula One Teams 2010 ~ Virgin Racing
At the end of the 2009 season and the with the success of Brawn GP, Richard Branson decided to put his backing and the Virgin name behind another start-up British team. That team was Manor Motorsport. The VR-01, as the car is called, is also a first for Formula 1. It was designed entirely by using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). Although CFD is not new technology, it is generally used in conjunction with wind tunnel testing. However, in an effort to keep costs down, the Virgin Racing team has forgone the use of wind tunnels and has relied solely on virtual testing.
