Obama’s DNC Speech
I finally got the opportunity to listen to Senator Obama’s acceptance speech in Denver. He is a magnificent orator. The comparisons to John F. Kennedy are certainly merited.
In his speech, Senator Obama gave me the sense that he understands what the majority of American people are gong through. He gets it. He is in touch with reality. And he understands that the current reality isn’t all roses and puppy dogs. The current reality is, simply put, pretty damn shitty.
Senator McCain, on the other hand, does not get it. He does not have a grasp on reality. He even admits to not having much knowledge on the workings of our economy. He is of the old school politics. The good ole’ boy network. And he has no sense of the struggles of the average American.
I am through with suffering under a president who is out of touch with reality. I am done with being governed by rich, old men who are clueless. I am ready for change. I am ready for hope. I am ready to begin believing that my country can once again be strong. I am ready to hold my head up high and say that I am an American.

A New Look For SeVen
I finally got sick and tired of the old site design. There were some buglets that I just couldn’t figure out how to get rid of. So I scrapped the whole thing and came up with this instead.
What ya think?
It’s still a work in progress. And probably when I think it’s done, I’ll be sick of this too.
New Web-Site Fills On-line Void in Steamboat Springs
For whatever reason, after the ski season ended, Ski Corp took down their online forum. This was a pretty active discussion forum with users from all over the globe contributing. Now it is gone.
Today the Steamboat Pilot changed their registration policy for readers to submit comments on their online news site. They now require that you register using your first and last name, daytime phone number, e-mail address, birth date, gender and zip code. In order for your registration to be accepted you will have to sit by the phone and wait for someone from the Pilot to call you and verify that you are who you say you are.
Fuck that.
Now we have The Steamboat Forum. A new place to discuss matters of great importance (like what your favorite beer is).
Harley: 12/25/1990 ~ 7/23/2008
It has taken me some time to be able to write this post.
Harley passed away on the morning of July 23rd. He had been sick for a couple of days and we knew that the situation was not good. The sparkle that I had come to know and love was gone. Thankfully, he took matters into his own paws and left us with grace and dignity. He died at home, peacefully in his owners arms.
Harley lived a fantastic doggy life. In his 18 years he swam and surfed in the Gulf of Mexico, he hiked mountains in Colorado, and could party with the best of them. To say that he will be missed is an understatement. I take great comfort in knowing that for the past ten or eleven years that Harley shared with me, I was able to spoil him absolutely rotten.
Even though I don’t generally buy into the hocus-pocus explanation for mysterious events, I do have an interesting story to tell.
