Thank You, South Carolina!

I have to admit that I have been feeling a bit nervous about the upcoming Presidential election. I really didn’t think so many Americans would fall for Hillary Clinton. The woman scares the shit out of me and to find so many folks supporting her…
well, that scares the shit out of me even more.
The people of South Carolina were able to see through Hillary’s façade. Not only did Barack win, but he kicked some serious butt – 55 percent! Many of the polls leading up to the primary stated that Obama was having trouble securing the white vote. A quarter of the white vote is not exactly trouble. I think it proves that the thinking population is sick of business as usual coming out of the White House. At least, that is what I am hoping for. It is still early days as far as this race goes. Super Tuesday (Feb 5th) is looming. This is when 24 states will hold primaries or caucuses, with 52 percent of all pledged Democratic Party delegates and 41 percent of the total Republican Party delegates at stake. I may not have any fingernails left by the time that this is over.

Caroline Kennedy, the daughter of former President John F. Kennedy, has given her support to the Obama campaign:

“I have never had a president who inspired me the way people tell me that my father inspired them,” she wrote on The New York Times op-ed page. “But for the first time, I believe I have found a man who could be that president and not just for me, but for a new generation of Americans.”

I am a part of that ‘new generation’. Obama ’08.
