The New Year & Some Politics

First off – a Happy New Year to all.
I think 2008 is going to be an interesting year. Unless you have been living on a deserted island for all of 2007, we have a Presidential race to deal with. With no sitting President or Vice President running for re-election a wide open field of candidates are in the race. Two states have already completed their primaries; Iowa and New Hampshire. For the Democrats Obama captured a win in Iowa with Clinton squeaking a win out of New Hampshire. Huckabee took the win in Iowa for the Republicans with McCain taking New Hampshire. Regardless of what all of the talking heads in the media say, it’s still anyone’s ballgame.

Have I made my decision? Not exactly. I know who I don’t want to see in the White House. All of the Republican candidates, with the exception of Ron Paul, scare the shit out of me. The fact that Paul isn’t doing better in the polls just proves the stupidity and sheep mentality of the American public. Far too many people believe the word of FOX News is gospel. The deliberate censoring of Paul by FOX also shows a fear (mainly from the far right) of what Paul stands for. (Need more – Google Ron Paul censoring.) Don’t know what he stands for? Well, pull your head out of the mainstream media – visit Ron Paul’s official website and do some reading, go to YouTube (search for Ron Paul) and do some listening, avoid all of the major news reporting agencies of the United States as if they were the plague. All I can say is that the man makes the most sense out of all of the candidates. My mind was pretty much made up early as far as the Democratic candidates go. It’s Obama all the way. Clinton is as frightening as the Republicans and the rest of the Democrats in the running don’t have much in the way of cojones. It’s still early times for this race and no decisions can be made and cast in stone. My goal is to make an informed decision based on facts – not rhetoric. Not an easy task in the Bush controlled US.
